Institutionalisation of man

"Man is a social animal"
one of the many quotes I read, referred to in quite a number of points of my life. But its now that I'm getting to truly understand its meaning. Of when it talks of man and society, it doesn't necessarily talk of the need for company to be civilized.
But it much rather means that man needs the society to build rules and walls around him, quite like a reared animal, to be able to work along in a co - existential manner to achieve his goals. That it is
a necessity for a man to be worked along in a structure, for him to be motivated to perform a task (although more often than not, its more seasoned into him).
